Chaturvedi requests accommodation and security arrangements in Chandigarh till Rajya Sabha voting.

New Delhi: Citing threats from the Punjab government, Janata Party President and Rajya Sabha candidate Navneet Chaturvedi has written to the Chandigarh DGP requesting immediate personal security.

In his letter addressed to Director General of Police (DGP), Chandigarh, Chaturvedi stated that for the past few days, teams from the Punjab CID and individuals associated with the Aam Aadmi Party have been following him without authorization. He further alleged attempts to tap his phone and monitor his movements.

Chaturvedi mentioned that he is required to remain in Chandigarh until the Rajya Sabha voting on October 24, and that he plans to host a dinner in Chandigarh the same evening after the voting concludes. He has requested that adequate security arrangements be made during this period.

He also appealed for accommodation at the Chandigarh UT Guest House to ensure his safety throughout the nomination and voting process.

Additionally, Chaturvedi informed that he will file a fresh set of nomination papers on October 13, and the scrutiny of nominations is scheduled for October 14.
