MERI Highlights NEP’s Transformative Potential in National Seminar Aimed at Viksit Bharat 2047

Two-Day Event Brings Together Scholars and Policymakers to Discuss NEP’s Role in India’s Growth Vision

New Delhi: The Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), with ICSSR’s sponsorship, held a two-day national seminar on “NEP 2020/2025: A Pathway to Viksit Bharat 2047,” focusing on how educational reforms can drive innovation, inclusivity, and national development.

The inaugural session began with a lamp-lighting ceremony invoking Goddess Saraswati, followed by the National Anthem and guest felicitation. Eminent speakers, including Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Aggarwal (Vice President, MERI), Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Mittal (Vice Chancellor, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University), and Shri J.K. Dadoo (Retd. IAS), emphasized the importance of education, innovation, and inclusive growth in realizing the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Deepshikha Kalra, Dean, MERI.

In his keynote address, Shri J.K. Dadoo highlighted flexibility, skill-based learning, and technology integration as key to educational transformation. He urged educators to connect theory with practice and embrace reform to build a modern, future-ready India envisioned in the NEP.

Technical sessions led by Prof. (Dr.) Durgesh Tripathi and Dr. Awa Shukla explored topics such as digital education, media studies, artificial intelligence, and neural networks. Day two featured keynote addresses by Prof. (Dr.) Praveen Chandra and Dr. Sarita Jain, who spoke on NEP’s focus on creativity, critical thinking, digital integration, and teacher empowerment through platforms like DIKSHA and SWAYAM.

The seminar concluded with a Valedictory and Certificate Distribution Ceremony, acknowledging the contributions of all participants. The event reaffirmed MERI’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and bridging the gap between academia and industry.
