Babar Azam Aims to End Pakistan’s Losing Streak vs. India in ODI World Cup 2023

In the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, has made a pledge to overturn Pakistan’s history of losing against India in Ahmedabad. On October 14, the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, will face off against Babar Azam’s Pakistan in Match 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. India has a flawless record against their arch-rivals in 50-over World Cup matches. In anticipation of this highly anticipated showdown, Babar Azam shared his thoughts on playing against India in Ahmedabad.

Babar Azam said that “The pressure is nothing new to us; we have performed in front of large crowds before. Although Ahmedabad is predominantly supportive of India, I must say that when we arrived in Hyderabad, we received substantial support from Pakistan fans, and I anticipate a similar atmosphere here as well.”

He added, “Handling pressure is a part of the game and it comes with experience. When I played my first India-Pakistan match, I was definitely under pressure. It’s the responsibility of senior players to guide the younger ones. They don’t need to overthink; they just need to focus on the ball and play their game.”

Regarding the past history of losses against India, Babar Azam remarked, “What has happened in the past is not relevant. We are focused on the present, and we believe we can perform well. The India-Pakistan match is always high-intensity.”

Babar Azam also mentioned that Pakistan will miss their key fast bowler, Naseem Shah, who was sidelined from the tournament due to injury. He expressed the team’s determination to break their losing streak against India in ODI World Cup matches.

Both India and Pakistan enter this match with two consecutive wins and are aiming to maintain their winning momentum.
