The absence of star fast bowler Lungi Ngidi from the upcoming tournament due to injury comes as a massive blow to the team. This setback compounds Delhi’s recent troubles, following star batsman Harry Brook’s unexpected decision to withdraw from the competition.

Australian all-rounder Jack Fraser-McGurk has been signed by Delhi Capitals to fill in for Engidi. Having represented the Australian team in two One Day Internationals, Fraser-McGurk will be acquired by Delhi Capitals for his reserve price of 50 lakhs INR. It’s reported that Lungi Ngidi sustained a back injury during the T20 playoffs and is yet to regain full fitness.

Known for his aggressive batting style, Jack Fraser-McGurk, an Australian cricketer, grabbed headlines by smashing a century in just 29 balls during a List A encounter. While playing for South Australia, Fraser outshone AB De Villiers by registering the fastest century in One Day cricket, reaching the milestone in a mere 29 balls. His innings of 125 runs, comprising 10 fours and 13 sixes off 38 deliveries, showcased his exceptional talent. Throughout the BBL 2024 tournament, Fraser accumulated a total of 257 runs in 8 matches, maintaining an impressive strike rate of 158.64.
