A video depicting a couple sharing a passionate kiss inside a Delhi Metro coach has gone viral, sparking outrage among some internet users. This footage, which lacks a specific date, shows a couple embracing and kissing near the automated doors of a moving metro train. The video alleges that this incident took place close to the Anand Vihar metro station. It is important to note that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has repeatedly urged passengers not to engage in such behavior and to maintain appropriate conduct while on the train. However we cannot confirm the authenticity of this video.
The video was accompanied by the caption: “Yet another emotional moment on the Delhi Metro at Anand Vihar #delhimetro (OYO). Perhaps we’ve forgotten that love is blind, but people are not.”
This video has incited anger among many social media users who have called upon the DMRC to take action. Some have questioned the ethics of recording and sharing the couple’s video without their consent.

One user commented, “This demonstrates the immaturity of the couple; they could have avoided unnecessary attention. Prolonged discussions on this matter are also unwarranted.” Another user asked, “Is this becoming a regular occurrence in Delhi? It looks extremely awkward.”
A third individual stated, “What’s the issue if they are kissing each other without disturbing anyone else in the metro? It seems like people like you have nothing better to do than interfere in other people’s lives.”
In May of this year, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced plans to increase security patrols at stations and on trains by deploying uniformed security personnel and undercover staff in response to the controversy surrounding similar videos. The Delhi Metro also encouraged passengers to report such incidents to the nearest metro staff or CISF personnel so that appropriate action could be taken.
Just few months ago, a video of a young couple kissing while seated on the floor of a metro coach went rapidly viral on social media. In a statement, the DMRC emphasized its expectation that commuters behave responsibly while using the Delhi Metro, adhering to societal norms and protocols. It reminded commuters not to engage in indecent or obscene activities that may cause discomfort or offense to fellow passengers. The DMRC’s Operations & Maintenance Act categorizes indecency as a punishable offense under Section 59.
