Delhi University Admission 2023: Important Dates and Application Process

Delhi University (DU) is commencing the admission process for undergraduate (UG) programs based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores, which were announced on July 15. A total of 71,000 seats are available across 68 colleges, offering 78 undergraduate programs at the University of Delhi. Additionally, there are 198 combinations available for the BA program. The admission process for the academic calendar 2023-24 started last month with the launch of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. Aspiring students who wish to seek admission to DU can register on the Undergraduate (UG) portal admission.uod.ac.in before July 24.

How To Apply For DU Admission?

The application process consists of three parts. The first part involves candidate registration through the CSAS 2023 application form on the portal, along with a one-time nonrefundable fee.

The second phase, which began on July 17, requires candidates to select their preferred course and college combinations. The third and final round involves seat allocation based on candidates’ preferences as well as their CUET UG 2023 scores. The first merit list for DU admission will be announced on August 1.

Upon the allocation of seats in the first merit list, candidates must accept the offer on the CSAS portal by August 4. Acceptance will only be valid for the respective round in which the seat is offered. Subsequently, the university will verify the documents and eligibility of the applicants by August 5. This will be followed by the approval or rejection of the provisional seat allocation. If approved, candidates must pay the required fee to confirm their admission by 04:49 PM on August 6. Candidates may also choose to withdraw their admission, but in such cases, they will not be eligible for further rounds of admission or seat allocation.

In the event of vacant seats after the first round of the admission process, DU will release subsequent CSAS lists to fill the remaining seats. Delhi university plans to commence classes for the academic year 2023-24 on August 16, as announced by DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh.
