Five Convicted in 2008 Murder of Journalist Soumya Vishwanathan in Delhi

Five individuals were found guilty today in the 2008 murder case of journalist Soumya Vishwanathan in Delhi. Additionally, a Delhi court also declared the accused as guilty of robbery and charged them under the provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.

The individuals held responsible for the murder and robbery were Ravi Kapoor, Amit Shukla, Baljit Mallick, and Akshay Kumar. The fifth accused, Ajay Sethi, was convicted for aiding the others.

Soumya Vishwanathan, a 25-year-old journalist, was tragically murdered in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar on September 30, 2008. Her lifeless body was discovered in her car, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
