Modi 3.0: Anticipated Ministers from NDA Allies

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to be sworn in for his third consecutive term today. The full council of ministers will not be taking their oaths immediately; approximately 30 ministers are expected to be sworn in initially. The complete council of ministers is projected to have between 78 and 81 members.
As Modi gears up for his third term, several prominent allies from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are likely to be included in the swearing-in ceremony. Here’s a look at the expected ministers from these allied parties:

Telugu Desam Party (TDP)
Ram Mohan Naidu: A prominent TDP leader, Ram Mohan Naidu is a three-time Member of Parliament representing Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam. At 36, he holds an MBA and serves as the national general secretary of the TDP. Naidu also led the party in the outgoing Lok Sabha. His political lineage includes his father, K. Yerran Naidu, who was a senior party leader and Union minister during the United Front government (1996-1998).
Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani: Representing Guntur, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani is a significant figure in the TDP. At 48, he is a medical doctor and one of the wealthiest candidates in the elections, with family assets valued over ₹5,785 crore. Pemmasani earned his MBBS from Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in 1999 and after that pursued an MD in Internal Medicine from the United States.


Janata Dal (United)
Lalan Singh: Also known as Rajeev Ranjan Singh, this 69-year-old is a four-term MP and a former national president of JD(U) and Bihar minister. A close ally of Nitish Kumar, Singh has been a prominent political figure for many years. Mentored by socialist leader Karpoori Thakur, he represented the Begusarai seat from 2004 to 2009 and recently won the Munger seat in the Lok Sabha elections.
Ram Nath Thakur: Born in 1950, Thakur is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur. He currently serves as an MP in the Rajya Sabha and leads the JD(U) in the upper house. Thakur has a long political career, including terms as a Bihar Legislative Council member and various ministerial roles in Bihar’s government.


Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)
Chirag Paswan: Representing Bihar’s Hajipur, Chirag Paswan is the son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, a former minister. After a brief stint in the film industry, Paswan entered politics and assumed leadership of the LJP following his father’s death in 2020.


Apna Dal
Anupriya Patel: Anupriya Patel has been leading the Apna Dal (Soneylal) party since 2016 and currently serves as the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry. She has represented Mirzapur in the Lok Sabha since 2014 and was previously the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from 2016 to 2019.


Janata Dal (Secular)
HD Kumaraswamy: The son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy is the leader of JD(S) and a former Chief Minister of Karnataka. He first served as Chief Minister in 2006 in a coalition with the BJP and again in 2018, leading a coalition with the Congress.


Rashtriya Lok Dal
Jayant Chaudhary: A Rajya Sabha MP, Jayant Chaudhary represents the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). Known for his grassroots connections and leadership, he has previously represented Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura constituency in the Lok Sabha.
