An interactive meeting between journalists and Nitin Naveen, National Executive President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was held in New Delhi on Tuesday, focusing on strengthening communication between the media and political leadership and addressing contemporary national concerns.
The discussion highlighted the role of journalism in a democratic society, with journalists emphasising the importance of independent, responsible, and fact-based reporting. Participants also exchanged views on the flow of information, issues of public relevance, and the social accountability of the media in shaping informed public discourse.
At the conclusion of the interaction, senior journalist Rakesh Singh honoured Nitin Naveen by presenting him with the traditional Mithila headgear, the Paag. The ceremonial gesture symbolised the cultural heritage of the Mithila region and reflected its long-standing tradition of respect and hospitality.
The meeting was attended by Sanjay Mayukh, Member of the Bihar Legislative Council and National Media Co-Incharge of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who also engaged in the discussions with members of the press.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Singh said that sustained dialogue between journalists and public representatives plays a vital role in strengthening democratic institutions. He added that honouring guests with the Mithila Paag represents the region’s cultural values and its ethos of mutual respect.
Organisers stated that the interaction aimed to deepen engagement between the media and political leadership and to promote constructive conversations on matters of public interest, reinforcing the shared responsibility of both institutions in a democracy.
