#Misleading Ads Case: Patanjali Issues Public Apology in Newspapers for Failing to Comply with Supreme Court Orders

New Delhi: Ramdev, the chief of Patanjali and a Yoga guru, along with his associate Balkrishna, published a public apology in newspapers on Wednesday for not adhering to the Supreme Court’s directives regarding the misleading advertisements case. Previously, Patanjali had issued an apology on Tuesday, but the court questioned whether its size matched the scale of the misleading advertisements for its products.

The public apology, occupying one-fourth of a newspaper page and titled “Unconditional Public Apology,” was published on Wednesday

During Tuesday’s court session, the Supreme Court raised inquiries about the prominence of their unqualified apology in newspapers.

“In the wake of on ongoing matter before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India (Writ Petition C. No. 645/2022), we, both individually and on behalf of the Company, unconditionally apologize for our failure to comply with the directives/orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India,” the apology stated.

“We unconditionally extend the apologize for holding meeting/press dated 22.11.2023. We deeply regret the errors made in our advertisements and pledge that such mistakes will not recur. We commit to following the court’s directions and instructions with utmost sincerity. We respect the court’s authority and will comply with all applicable laws and directives from the Hon’ble Court/relevant authorities. Sincerely, Patanjali Ayurved Limited, Acharya Balkrishna, Swami Ramdev, Haridwar, Uttarakhand,” the note concluded.
