The Indian variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has appeared on Geekbench, while batteries for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra have received BIS certification.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is anticipated to launch in July alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6, with rumors suggesting the introduction of an ‘Ultra’ model – the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. Previous leaks hinted that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 would feature the latest Snapdragon chipset globally, a detail echoed by the new Geekbench listing. Additionally, batteries purportedly for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra have been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Geekbench Spotting of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6:
A device with the model number SM-F956B appeared on Geekbench’s website on May 29. Believed to be the Indian variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the listing indicates scores of 3,582 points in the multi-core test and 1,476 points in the single-core test. Earlier this month, the US variant with the model number SM-F956U underwent benchmarking.
The Geekbench listing suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by an octa-core CPU codenamed ‘Pineapple’ with a governor named ‘walt’. It boasts a base frequency of 2.27 GHz and a peak frequency of 3.40GHz, indicative of the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. The device is listed with 12GB of RAM and running on Android 14.
BIS Certification for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra Batteries:
Meanwhile, two Samsung smartphone batteries bearing model numbers EB-BF959ABE and EB-BF959ABY have reportedly received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). These batteries are purportedly for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra.
There were previous rumors of Samsung using an in-house Exynos chipset in some regions for its next-generation foldables. Therefore, it’s advisable to approach this benchmark listing with caution.
According to recent reports, the latest foldable lineup is expected to be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event possibly taking place in Paris on July 10.
