Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi announced the sad news of his sister’s passing on social media. He shared that she had been critically ill and this led him to change his travel plans to be with her. Unfortunately, she didn’t recover, and Afridi returned to see her before her passing. He also revealed the details of her funeral on social media.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved sister. Her funeral prayer (Namaz e Janazah) will be held on 17th October 2023 after the Zuhur prayer at Zakariya Masjid, Main 26th Street, Khayaban e Ghalib, DHA,” Afridi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Prior to this, the renowned Pakistani cricketer had posted: “I am heading back to be with you, my love. Stay strong. My sister is currently in a critical condition, and I kindly request you to pray for her recovery. Your prayers will mean a lot. May Allah grant her a speedy recovery and a long, healthy life. Ya Rabb.”
