Slovenia’s former Prime Minister Alojz Peterle was the special guest

India is entering an exciting, but also uniquely challenging phase in its history. Prime Minister has declared that India will achieve developed country status by 2047. To realise its future ambitions, India is transitioning itself from a largely agrarian, informal economy to a services, advanced manufacturing, and industry 4.0 hub, positioning itself to take full advantage of the world’s increasing technological sophistication and drive for sustainability.
How can we build India into a Developed nation by 2047 ?
This was the focus of the Summit on Nation Building organised at the Constitution Club, Delhi. Building Human infrastructure, Building social infrastructure, Building Digital Infrastructure, Building physical infrastructure, Building Economy for the 21st Century will be some of the areas that will be discussed at this Summit on Nation Building.
Hon’ble Mr Alojz Peterle, Former Prime Minister of Slovenia was be the special guest at the Nation Building Summit.
In May 1990, Mr. Peterle became Slovenia’s first democratically elected Prime Minister as the DEMOS coalition emerged victorious. He had previously held the presidency of the newly-formed SKD – Slovenian Christian Democrats party. His leadership marked a historic period, culminating in Slovenia’s declaration of independence in June 1991.

Beyond his tenure as Prime Minister, Mr. Peterle held significant roles as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. He also played vital roles in European leadership from 1993 to 2009. His diplomatic skills were evident in missions and election observations across the world. Additionally, Mr. Peterle championed cancer awareness through his leadership of the influential MAC group in the European Commission. Mr. Alojz Peterle’s legacy is marked by his crucial role in Slovenia’s early democracy, his impactful presence in European politics and diplomacy, and his dedication to raising awareness about cancer.
Apart from him, other business leaders, educational leaders and societal leaders also discussed the Nation Building initiatives. The event was organised by the Foundation of Leadership and Governance led by Mr John Samuel, Former Chief Post Master General, Govt of India.
