New Delhi : The arrest of YouTuber Elvish Yadav has sparked concern among his fan base and supporters. Yadav, a prominent social media influencer, was apprehended in connection with a case involving snake venom distribution on Sunday and has since been placed in a 14-day judicial custody. A widely circulated video depicts his mother visibly distraught, vehemently asserting her son’s innocence. This emotionally charged footage has drawn attention from various quarters, including actor Aly Goni, who expressed his desire for a prompt reunion between Yadav and his family.
Goni shared the video on X, expressing his hope that Yadav would henceforth avoid entanglements in such controversies. The footage captures Sushma Yadav in tears as she reflects on her son’s situation and fervently wishes for his well-being. Goni, moved by the poignant scene, conveyed his sentiments, emphasizing his hope for a swift reunion between mother and son and Yadav’s avoidance of future controversies.
Earlier, Yadav’s father, Ram Avtar Yadav, similarly displayed emotions during an interview with ABP News. He spoke of his son’s arrest, steadfastly maintaining his innocence. Additionally, he appealed to Maneka Gandhi, a prominent political figure and chairperson of People For Animals (PFA), urging her to show compassion and leniency towards his son.
In the aftermath of Yadav’s arrest, a spokesperson from the Noida police addressed the media, revealing Yadav’s demeanor during interrogation as seemingly fearless. According to reports from the Indian Express, Yadav’s alleged involvement in supplying snake venom at rave parties was purportedly driven by a desire to project a certain image of ‘swagger’ or ‘bhaukaal’ to his fan base. The report cited police sources, who emphasized Yadav’s intent to portray himself as impervious to law enforcement and free to act as he pleased.
Further investigations into a rave party held in Sector 51, Noida, revealed Yadav’s purported involvement in six similar events where snake venom was supplied. Additionally, authorities confirmed Yadav’s engagement in filming videos with snakes at his properties in Noida and the National Capital Region (NCR), alongside his associates and fellow YouTubers. In addition to recovering 20ml of snake venom, law enforcement officials seized five cobras, a python, two vipers, and a rat snake during their investigations.
