Delhi to Singapore Flight Delayed Six Hours as Air India Flight Faces Technical Glitch

Updated At: September 11, 2025 12:04 PM

Air India Flight AI2380 was scheduled to leave Delhi for Singapore at 11 pm Wednesday

An Air India flight from Delhi to Singapore faced major disruption on Wednesday night after the aircraft’s air conditioning system stopped working. The problem forced the airline to take all passengers off the plane and arrange a replacement aircraft.

Two Hours of Waiting Inside the Plane

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was supposed to take off at 11:00 pm. Passengers boarded on time but were kept seated for almost two hours as the crew tried to fix the issue. With the AC not functioning, the cabin became hot and uncomfortable, making it difficult for people to sit inside any longer.

Electrical Glitch Added to the Trouble

Apart from the faulty AC, the aircraft also faced electrical supply problems. This raised safety concerns, and the decision was made to bring passengers back to the terminal.

Passengers Shared Their Experience Online

Videos from inside the plane quickly spread on social media, showing passengers fanning themselves with magazines and newspapers as they waited for updates. Many expressed frustration over the long wait and the lack of clear communication.

Flight Delayed for Six Hours

In the end, the flight was delayed by about six hours. A different aircraft was arranged, and the plane finally took off from Delhi at 5:36 am on Thursday morning.

Airline Apologizes for Inconvenience

Air India issued a statement expressing regret for the situation. The airline said passenger safety was its top priority and assured that the replacement plane was arranged as quickly as possible to minimize disruption.

Concerns Over Passenger Comfort

The incident has raised questions about how airlines handle such situations and what measures are in place to ensure passenger comfort during long delays. It is still unclear whether affected passengers will receive any form of compensation.
