New Delhi: A high-level conference on Software Defined Communications brought defence experts, telecom specialists and academics together to examine the future of next-generation communication networks.
The Round Table Conference took place at Taramandal Conference Hall at the MERI Delhi Campus. The MERI Department of Space Studies, MERI Group of Institutions and Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) jointly organised the event.
The conference explored the convergence of 5G, 6G, Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity, space networks and multi-orbit architectures. Speakers also discussed how these technologies can improve communication resilience and support national security requirements.
Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President of MERI Group of Institutions, opened the conference with an introductory address. Lt Gen PJS Pannu delivered the thematic address and highlighted the strategic role of software-defined architectures in future multi-domain operations.
During the technical sessions, Shri Vipin Tyagi, Former ED and CEO of C-DOT, discussed the application of software-defined communications across 5G, 6G and space networks.
Col Bharat Gupta spoke about D2D connectivity, spectrum and border security. Brig (Dr) Navjot Singh Bedi, Professor at Sharda University, discussed the development and strategic relevance of multi-orbit space systems.
Lt Gen PJS Pannu chaired the final Round Table Discussion. Air Cmde Himanshu Gopal delivered the Vote of Thanks, bringing the conference to a close.
