Manushi Chhillar Speaks Out About 30-Year Age Gap With Akshay Kumar: ‘I Don’t See It…’

New Delhi : Manushi Chhillar and Akshay Kumar have co-starred in two films together: “Samrat Prithviraj,” directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, and “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. In a recent interview with Zoom, Manushi addressed the discussions on social media regarding the significant age difference between her and Akshay in their movie collaborations.

When asked about the debate surrounding their age gap, Manushi mentioned that working with a superstar like Akshay Kumar helps increase her visibility as an actor. She explained that in their first film, the age gap was necessary for the storyline. However, in their second movie, there was no romantic involvement between them; they only appeared together in songs for promotional purposes. Manushi didn’t view the age gap as a major issue because the movies didn’t revolve around a romantic narrative.

The actress said that, “Working with a superstar is beneficial. It gives you a certain level of visibility. If I talk about my first movie, there was an age gap. It was part of the story. In the second film, there was no pairing. We did songs for marketing purposes. They needed a way to bring us together for the songs, but that’s about it, which is fine. I don’t see it as something offensive or something that shouldn’t have been there. It wasn’t a love story anyway.”

In the movie “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” Manushi Chhillar portrayed the role of Captain Misha alongside Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. The film also starred actors like Alaya F, Sonakshi Sinha, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ronit Roy, among others, in significant roles.

Manushi’s upcoming project is a political action-thriller titled “Tehran,” directed by Pawan Gopalan. In this film, she will share screen space with John Abraham and Neeru Bajwa, portraying important characters.
