Loss for Tamil Cinema: Actor Daniel Balaji Dies of Heart Attack in Chennai at 48.

Daniel Balaji, a prominent figure in Tamil cinema, died of a heart attack at a private hospital in Chennai last night. He had been taken to the hospital the previous day after complaining of chest pain.

The unexpected demise of the 48-year-old actor has left the Tamil film industry and his fans in shock. His body has been transported to his Purasaiwakkam residence for cremation.

Tributes started flooding social media soon after news of Mr. Balaji’s passing broke.

Daniel Balaji’s career began as a unit production manager for Kamal Haasan’s uncompleted film ‘Marudhunayagam’. Transitioning to television with Radikaa Sarathkumar’s ‘Chithhi’, his character being named Daniel led to the adoption of the screen name, Daniel Balaji.

Known for his unforgettable performances in ‘Kakka Kakka’ and ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’, Daniel Balaji made his film debut in 2022 with the Tamil movie ‘April Madhathil’. Besides Tamil cinema, he has acted in various Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films.

‘Ariyavan’ was the last film he was a part of.
