He praised the Vibrant Gujarat Summit as a manifestation of Prime Minister Modi’s vision, emphasizing its ambitious scale, meticulous governance, and flawless execution. Adani noted India’s economic growth since 2014, citing a 185% increase in GDP and a 165% rise in per capita income. He credited Prime Minister Modi with reorienting India to become the world’s fastest-growing economy.
In a December announcement, Gautam Adani revealed the group’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality in all port operations by 2025, with a target for net-zero port operations by 2040. The conglomerate plans to electrify cranes, transition internal transfer vehicles from diesel to battery power, and add 1000 MW of captive renewable capacity by 2025.
Adani also shared the group’s dedication to environmental protection, pledging to establish mangrove plantations covering approximately 5,000 hectares by the financial year 2024-25. This initiative aligns with Adani Group’s commitment to climate stewardship and contributes to India’s green energy capacity, supporting the country in achieving its climate action pledges made at COP26 in 2021. India’s “Panchamrit” pledge includes reaching 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity, generating half of energy from renewables, reducing emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030, decreasing emissions intensity of GDP by 45%, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
