Congress veteran AK Antony expressed his desire for his son, who recently joined the BJP, to lose in the elections. Anil K Antony is contesting as a BJP candidate in the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. During a press conference, AK Antony stated that he hoped his son would not succeed in the election, and instead wished victory for the Congress candidate, Anto Antony, in the south Kerala constituency.

AK Antony also criticized the trend of children of Congress leaders joining the BJP, describing it as “wrong”. He emphasized his allegiance to the Congress party, stating that it is his ideological commitment, in response to questions about his son’s political decisions and affiliation with the BJP.
