Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for his distinct storytelling style in movies like Gangs Of Wasseypur and Sacred Games, appeared frustrated on Saturday as he voiced his disappointment in helping new talents in the industry. Kashyap announced on his official Instagram that he will now demand payment from individuals seeking personal meetings.
In his stern message, Anurag Kashyap wrote, “I’ve spent considerable time assisting newcomers, only to be disappointed with mediocre outcomes. Henceforth, I refuse to entertain random individuals who consider themselves creative prodigies. Therefore, I’ve established rates: 1 lakh for 10-15 minutes, 2 lakhs for half an hour, and 5 lakhs for one hour. Payment must be made in advance.”
He further emphasized, “This is non-negotiable. Do not text, DM, or call me. Pay first, and then you’ll get your time. I’m not a charity, and I’m weary of people seeking shortcuts.”
Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap is reportedly gearing up for his debut in the Tamil film industry. Recent reports suggest that the Gangs of Wasseypur director will collaborate with Tamil actor and musician GV Prakash for an upcoming project. Kashyap previously ventured into Tamil cinema with a cameo role in the 2018 film Imaikkaa Nodigal, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Atharvaa. He also made a brief appearance in Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo.
An ardent fan of Tamil cinema, Anurag Kashyap often shares his reviews of recent releases on social media. Notably, he acknowledged actor-director Sasikumar’s Subramaniyapuram in his blockbuster Gangs of Wasseypur.
