Securing their second consecutive victory in IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals claimed a 12-run win against Delhi Capitals at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday.
Riyan Parag’s unbeaten 82 runs guided Rajasthan Royals to a total of 185/5, giving them a solid start for the second innings.
Delhi Capitals began strongly with Mitch Marsh and David Warner hitting boundaries, but Nadnre Burger’s double strike in an over removed Marsh and Ricky Bhui from the equation. Warner and Rishabh Pant then built a solid partnership, but Warner fell to Avesh Khan just one run short of his fifty. Yuzvendra Chahal later dismissed Pant and Abhishe Porel.
Delhi Capitals Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel put up an unbeaten partnership of 44 and 15 runs respectively. Nevertheless, their efforts were not enough as DC fell 12 runs short, granting Rajasthan Royals another home win this season.
Rajasthan Royals posted a target of 186 runs, largely thanks to the stellar batting display by Riyan Parag, who scored a magnificent 84 off 45 balls. Parag’s innings came to the rescue after RR suffered an early setback in their top-order.

Ravichandran Ashwin entered at number five and played a valuable innings, contributing a quick cameo of 29 runs off 19 deliveries to rejuvenate the hosts. However, it was Riyan Parag who stole the show with a career-best T20 score of 84 runs off 45 balls in the final stretch of the innings. This propelled the Royals to set a target of 186 runs.
