Rajasthan Shutdown: Karni Sena Declares State-Wide Protest Following the Assassination of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi

The leader of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was assassinated on December 5, 2023, leading to widespread protests by members of the Karni Sena. Gogamedi, the president of Karni Sena, was fatally shot in the living room of his Jaipur home on Tuesday by three armed assailants. During the aggressive exchange of gunfire, one of Gogamedi’s security guards somehow sustained bullet injuries. The assailants had visited his house in the Shyam Nagar area under the pretext of a meeting. Karni Sena Calls for Rajasthan Shutdown Today
Following the assassination of their chief, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, members of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena have announced a state-wide protest, known as the Rajasthan Shutdown. The purpose of the shutdown is to demand a judicial inquiry into the killing of the Karni Sena President. The assassination has triggered protests across the state, including in Jaipur, Churu, Udaipur, Alwar, and Jodhpur. Supporters have blocked Shipra Road outside the hospital and are demanding the immediate arrest of the accused in the case.

Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Takes Responsibility for Murder
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead by three men inside his Jaipur home on Tuesday. Even before the police and investigating agencies could reach a conclusive decision, Rohit Godara, a member of the notorious gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the murder. Godara, a notorious criminal from Bikaner, Rajasthan, is reportedly on the run and has evaded authorities in India. The National Investigation Agency has taken proper steps to apprehend him and has also filed criminal charges against him.
