SP and case associated people ordered for physical appearance in court
Court slams police administration, next hearing on December 15
Patna, December 9, 2023:
Patna High Court slammed police administration in missing CKM Law College professor Mr Vipin Kishore Mishra. While presiding over the hearing, Justice PB Bajanthri and Justice RC Malviya remarked, “Professors are missing from the state, doctors are missing… Tomorrow even judges may go missing, this is how administration is being run in the state.” The bench has ordered two SIT (Special Investigation Team) teams, comprising SP, DSP, Inspector, and Case IO, to be personally present on the next date. The bench has scheduled the next hearing for December 15th.
It must be noted that the bench had conducted a hearing on this case two weeks ago, during which the police were given a two-week deadline by the court to present Professor Vipin Kishore Mishra’s body before the magistrate’s court. However, even after two weeks, the police’s scrutiny was only evident on paper. This displeased the court, and expressing dissatisfaction with the police administration, the bench issued orders for all officers involved in the investigation to appear before it, while reprimanding the police administration.
On September 24, 2022, Professor Vipin Kishor Mishra, professor at CKM Law College, was abducted when he left the college after attending evening classes. Vipin Mishra is a resident of Beerpur in Supaul district. Following his abduction, on September 25, his wife, late Premlata Mishra, filed an FIR at the Araria police station after coming from Beerpur. More than a year has passed since the incident, but the mystery surrounding his abduction has not been resolved yet. Currently, the Patna High Court has directed the police administration to appear before it and provide answers regarding the case.
