New Delhi : Samsung is reportedly working on the development of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, which could be launched later this year. Earlier this year, Samsung introduced its flagship Galaxy S24 series comprising the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. According to recent reports, Samsung has now turned its attention towards creating the Fan Edition series.

Initially rumored to debut in the summer as a more affordable variant of the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24 FE’s launch has been postponed, as per a Dutch outlet. This report also reveals the codename associated with the upcoming device.

A report from Galaxyclub suggests that Samsung is actively developing a new smartphone codenamed R12, aligning with previous Fan Edition smartphone codenames. The model number R12 is believed to correspond to the Galaxy S24 FE, following in the footsteps of previous Fan Edition models such as the Galaxy S23 FE (R11), Galaxy S21 FE (R9), and Galaxy S20 FE (R8). The rumored Galaxy S22 FE with codename R10 did not materialize.

Initially expected to launch in the summer of this year, the Galaxy S24 FE’s release has been delayed due to ongoing development. The latest report indicates that the device might be launched towards the end of 2024 or early in the following year. This revised schedule is similar to that of the Galaxy S23 FE, which was announced in October last year and subsequently launched in multiple countries in early 2024.

Details about the Galaxy S24 FE are relatively scarce from reputable sources. However, it is anticipated to feature a 6.1-inch AMOLED display and be powered by either the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, depending on the market. The phone could come with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and will likely offer storage options of 128GB and 256GB using UFS 3.1 technology. The device is expected to include a 4,500mAh battery.

In India, the Galaxy S23 FE was launched at a price of Rs. 59,999 for the variant with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM.
