Sunita Kejriwal, Atishi Visit Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar Jail; Discuss Delhi Affairs

Sunita Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Atishi visited Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Tihar Jail and shared details of their meeting with him. Atishi, who oversees six departments in the Delhi Cabinet, recounted their conversation with the Chief Minister inside the prison. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is set to meet Kejriwal the following day.

Atishi mentioned, “I just met the Chief Minister. I asked about his well-being, but he redirected, asking about the progress of work in Delhi instead.” She added, “He inquired about the availability of books for children and medicines at the Mohalla Clinics.”

“He also addressed the upcoming summer season, emphasizing the importance of ensuring no water scarcity in Delhi,” Atishi continued. “He conveyed a message to the women of Delhi, stating his intention to provide ₹ 1000 to them.”

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that Sunita Kejriwal, Mr. Kejriwal’s wife, was denied permission to meet him. However, Atishi clarified that Sunita Kejriwal would indeed meet her husband later in the day. She explained, “Initially, permission was granted to two individuals, but Sunita ji’s permission was revoked. Despite the initial denial, our legal team managed to secure her visitation rights after a battle.”

Furthermore, the party announced Sunita Kejriwal’s involvement in AAP’s Lok Sabha campaign in Delhi and other states, commencing with a roadshow supporting AAP’s East Delhi candidate, Kuldeep Kumar. This marks Sunita Kejriwal’s debut in active politics.

Last week, AAP MP Sanjay Singh alleged that Atishi’s meeting with Kejriwal at Tihar Jail was canceled abruptly, claiming confusion in the visitor’s list arrangement.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in March in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case and subsequently in a money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Despite his arrest, AAP maintains that he continues to govern from jail.
