Zerodha Co-Founder Seema Patil Beats Breast Cancer: Inspiring Journey

New Delhi : Meet Seema Patil, the co-founder of Zerodha and wife of Nithin Kamath, who successfully recovered from breast cancer. Her journey is truly inspiring and sheds light on the importance of early detection and awareness about breast cancer.

Seema Patil is a dynamic businesswoman who has made a significant impact in her field. Married to Nithin Kamath in 2008, she hails from Bengaluru, Karnataka, and is admired for her exceptional management skills and dedication to fitness.

Seema, an army kid with two siblings, pursued her college education in Belgaum before moving to Bengaluru with aspirations of becoming an air hostess in 2003. She embarked on her dream career by joining Air Deccan as a cabin crew member and later gained experience with Singapore Airlines during her five-year stay in Singapore.

Her journey took a personal turn when she met Nithin at a call center where she was temporarily employed. They began dating in 2004, maintaining a long-distance relationship while Seema was based in Singapore.

Despite following a healthy lifestyle—maintaining weight, staying physically active, and eating well—Seema was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, her healthier habits played a crucial role in her swift recovery.

After her diagnosis, Seema underwent a mastectomy followed by multiple chemotherapy and radiation sessions. Once cancer-free, she opted for reconstruction surgery, which involved the use of an expander for several months before implants. Unfortunately, the process has been challenging due to radiation-related skin issues, requiring multiple reconstruction surgeries.

Seema’s resilience and determination in battling cancer serve as a testament to her strength. Her story highlights the importance of awareness and early intervention in combating breast cancer, offering hope and inspiration to many facing similar challenges.
