Authentic botanical sherbets crafted through natural extraction and traditional blending
New Delhi: 5S Farm, a natural food innovation brand from Jaipur, has reintroduced India’s age-old sherbet traditions by unveiling the world’s first millet sherbet, paired with authentic herbal and floral variants.
Historically, sherbet—also known as shorbat, sarbat, or sharbat—occupied a distinguished place in Indian, Persian, and Mughal kitchens. People prepared it using fruits, herbs, flower petals, and spices, and they regarded it as a cooling, nutritious, and flavour-rich beverage. The Ayurvedic text Bhavaprakasha Nighantu describes sherbet as “Sharkorak” and classifies it into two categories:
- Sheetpeya (cooling drinks)
- Ushnpeya (warming drinks)
5S Farm has revived these authentic formulations and adapted them to meet the wellness needs and lifestyle of modern consumers.
Along with reviving traditional sherbets, 5S Farm has launched the world’s first millet-based sherbet, bringing ancient grains into modern, health-focused beverages and highlighting millets as a nutritious global ingredient.
5S Farm has revived traditional sherbets such as Khus, Rose, Lemongrass, Tulsi, Kewra, Brahmakamal, and Heengjeera. The team prepares them without artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives, using slow cooking and natural extraction methods to deliver authentic botanical flavours.
Rahul Sharma, Founder of 5S Farm, said sherbet is a symbol of India’s cultural, Ayurvedic, and culinary heritage. He added that the brand aims to revive forgotten flavours and medicinal drink traditions for future generations.
With this initiative, 5S Farm aims to transform India’s natural, heritage-inspired beverage market. Over the next few months, the brand plans to introduce more products, push forward research-led innovations, and showcase India’s traditional beverage legacy around the world.
