Dubai authorities confirmed that debris from the intercepted attack caused only minor building damage in central Dubai and reported no injuries

Dubai: On Friday, residents in central Dubai heard loud explosions and saw smoke rising in Downtown Dubai. Authorities said an aerial attack had been intercepted, and debris from it caused minor damage to a building along Sheikh Zayed Road. Officials did not clarify whether the intercepted object was a missile or a drone.

The blasts happened a day after twin drone incidents, showing the rising aerial threats in the UAE amid the US-Iran war, which has been going on for nearly two weeks.

UAE Intercepts Missiles, Drones

On Thursday, the UAE’s air defense systems intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 26 drones from Iran, which were targeting US facilities in the region. A drone also fell in Dubai’s Al Badaa area and hit a building facade on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Authorities said their air defense successfully stopped the attacks, preventing major damage. However, falling debris caused minor damage to buildings. No major casualties were reported in this latest incident.

“Authorities confirm that debris from a successful interception caused a minor incident on the facade of a building in central Dubai. No injuries have been reported.”

Bahrain Activates Air Sirens

In Bahrain, air raid sirens sounded early on Friday after a large fire near the airport. The fire followed Iranian drone strikes on fuel tanks. The Interior Ministry asked people to take shelter and stay calm, highlighting rising regional tensions as the US-Iran war continues.

Qatar Condemns Lebanon Strikes

Qatar strongly condemned Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon, which killed 15 people, including five children, on Thursday. Nine people were killed in one village, and six others in two separate towns.

Qatar’s foreign ministry called the attacks a “blatant violation of international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701”, showing concern over civilian harm in the region.
