Shri Manoj Kumar Anand, Central Council Member (CCM), of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), today held an important discussion with Shri J. L. Gupta, Director, National e-Governance Division, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), along with Shri Tarun Kumar, Director Technical, regarding cyber security and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
The meeting focused on strengthening awareness, professional training, and future collaboration in the areas of cyber security compliance, digital governance, and data protection for professionals and industry stakeholders.
During the discussion, both sides explored opportunities to work together for the benefit of ICMAI members through knowledge-sharing initiatives, workshops, certification programmes, and capacity-building activities related to emerging digital regulations and cyber security frameworks.
As part of this initiative, ICMAI and the National e-Governance Division are expected to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing professional competencies and creating awareness about the implementation of the DPDP Act and cyber security preparedness among members.
Speaking during the discussion, Shri Manoj Kumar Anand, CCM, ICMAI, said: “Cyber security and data protection have become critical priorities in today’s digital economy. Our proposed collaboration with MeitY and the National e-Governance Division will help empower ICMAI members with the latest knowledge, practical insights, and regulatory understanding related to the DPDP Act and cyber security. This initiative will create new opportunities for professionals to contribute effectively in the evolving digital governance ecosystem.”
The proposed collaboration is expected to support professionals in adapting to India’s fast-changing digital and regulatory environment while promoting secure and responsible data management practices across sectors.
