RCB Beat GT by 92 Runs, Reach IPL 2026 Final in Ahmedabad

Rajat Patidar’s explosive innings of 93 runs, Jacob Duffy 3 Wickets, helped Bengaluru reach the IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) entered the IPL 2026 final after defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday evening. With this big win, RCB directly qualified for the final and will now travel to Ahmedabad for the title clash.

RCB gave an outstanding performance with both bat and ball, while captain Rajat Patidar played one of the best innings of the season.

RCB Batters Dominate GT Bowlers

Batting first, RCB scored a huge total of 254/5 in 20 overs. The Bengaluru batters attacked from the start and kept scoring quickly throughout the innings.

Venkatesh Iyer gave RCB a fast start with 19 runs off just seven balls. Virat Kohli then played an important knock of 43 runs from 25 balls with five fours and one six. Devdutt Padikkal also batted well and scored 30 runs in 19 balls.

Captain Rajat Patidar completely changed the match with a powerful unbeaten innings of 93 runs off only 33 balls. He smashed five fours and nine sixes and put the GT bowlers under pressure in every over. Krunal Pandya also made an important contribution with 43 runs from 28 balls.

Tim David scored four runs, while wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma remained not out on 15 runs from five balls. RCB also got seven extra runs and finished with one of the highest totals in IPL playoff history.

GT Bowlers Could Not Stop the Runs

Gujarat Titans bowlers struggled badly against the aggressive RCB batting lineup.

GT Lose Early Wickets During Chase

Chasing a massive target of 255 runs, Gujarat Titans lost wickets at regular intervals and never looked comfortable in the match.

Sai Sudharsan scored 14 runs before getting out hit wicket against Jacob Duffy. Captain Shubman Gill managed only two runs before Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him cheaply. Jos Buttler tried to fight back with a quick 29 runs from just 11 balls, hitting four boundaries and two sixes, but Josh Hazlewood removed him early.

Nishant Sindhu scored five runs, Washington Sundar made eight runs, and Jason Holder got out without scoring.

Rahul Tewatia played a fighting innings of 68 runs off 43 balls with eight fours and four sixes, but he did not get support from the other batters. Rashid Khan scored eight runs, Kagiso Rabada added nine, Mohammed Siraj made five, and Prasidh Krishna stayed unbeaten on six runs.

GT were finally bowled out for 162 runs in 19.3 overs.

RCB Bowlers Shine in Dharamsala

RCB bowlers performed brilliantly and successfully defended the huge total.

Jacob Duffy gave RCB an early breakthrough and finished with 3 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Shubman Gill and Rahul Tewatia to put GT under more pressure. Rasikh Salam also took two wickets during the middle overs.

Krunal Pandya picked up two important wickets, while Josh Hazlewood dismissed the dangerous Jos Buttler.

RCB Into IPL 2026 Final

With this dominant victory in Dharamsala, Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a direct place in the IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans still remain in the tournament and will now play Qualifier 2 for another chance to enter the final.

Rajat Patidar was named Player of the Match for his explosive unbeaten innings that helped RCB register one of the biggest playoff wins in IPL history.
