Kundli: Newly admitted students pursuing B.Tech (FTM), B.Tech (FT&MBA) and BBA (Hons.) at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Kundli, took part in an interactive session on “Essentials of Communication” led by Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma during the institute’s induction programme.

Dr. Sharma introduced students to the importance of effective communication through practical examples, engaging activities and real-life situations. The session highlighted key communication skills, including clarity, confidence, active listening, body language and effective expression.

Students participated enthusiastically in discussions and activities, making the session a practical and engaging learning experience.

Dr. Neeraj, Professor and Dean (Academics), NIFTEM-Kundli, emphasised that strong communication skills are crucial for students as they begin their academic journey and prepare for professional responsibilities.

Dr. Vijay Kumar Gahlawat, Professor and Associate Dean (Student Welfare), said the interactive format encouraged students to communicate openly and learn beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-Kundli, highlighted the role of communication in developing confident and capable professionals. He said such initiatives help students acquire practical skills that remain valuable throughout their careers.

Students also shared positive feedback about the session. Vaishnavi from Bihar described it as an interesting experience that helped her understand communication through activities rather than a conventional lecture. Vijay from Tamil Nadu said the interactive environment made participation comfortable and provided useful skills for both college life and future careers.

The session concluded with students gaining practical knowledge of effective communication and its role in personal, academic and professional development. The induction programme continues to focus on equipping new students with essential skills for their overall growth.
