New Delhi: Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), Janakpuri, joined hands with the Delhi Police, West District, to conduct an awareness programme focusing on cybercrime, drug abuse and legal awareness among college students.
Organised on Monday by Rangbhoomi, the Theatre Club of MERI, the programme was held under the guidance of Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President, MERI Group of Institutions. The initiative aimed to help young people recognise online risks, understand the dangers of substance abuse and become aware of their legal rights and responsibilities.
A key highlight of the event was a nukkad natak presented by MERI students. Through the street performance, students showcased situations related to online fraud, unsafe use of digital platforms and substance abuse.
The performance also conveyed the importance of taking timely action and approaching the concerned authorities when faced with cybercrime or other related challenges.
Insp. Vikas Kumar Buldak, SHO, Cyber Crime; Insp. Amit Dhani, Inspector, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF); and Assistant Sub-Inspector Lokendra Singh Kushwah, DCP Office, Janakpuri, attended the programme as Guests of Honour.
The interaction allowed students to gain a better understanding of cybercrime risks, substance abuse and available legal mechanisms. The officials also stressed the importance of vigilance and responsible behaviour in both online and offline spaces.
The programme encouraged students to adopt safer digital habits, stay away from drugs and understand their role in promoting a responsible and aware society.
