Allied & Healthcare Courses 2026–27: Students Advised to Verify Regulatory Approval Before Admission

Students, parents advised to check statutory recognition and regulatory approvals before taking admission in Allied & Healthcare courses

New Delhi: With admissions for the 2026–27 academic session approaching, students and parents seeking Allied & Healthcare courses have been advised to verify professional recognition and regulatory approvals before enrolling in any programme.

A public interest notice citing the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) Act, 2021, and related circulars states that an academically valid degree may not, by itself, provide eligibility for statutory registration or professional practice.

The advisory, issued by Dr. Rev. K.V.K. Rao, Founder and Chancellor of St. Mary’s Rehabilitation University, draws attention to three areas that students should examine before choosing an Allied Health programme.

The first concerns three-year Allied & Healthcare degree courses. The notice states that NCAHP has prescribed four-year competency-based programmes for most Allied & Healthcare professions. Students should therefore establish whether a three-year qualification is recognised for statutory registration and professional practice.

The second involves four-year programmes offered by Deemed-to-be Universities without the necessary regulatory approval. Applicants have been advised to confirm whether NCAHP or the concerned State Allied & Healthcare Council granted prior approval for the programme.

The third relates to courses offered beyond a Private University’s approved academic scope. Students should check whether the programme is covered by the institution’s Letter of Intent, First Ordinances or subsequent valid approvals.

The notice further recommends obtaining written documentation covering the course duration, applicable regulatory approvals and professional recognition before paying admission fees.

Students and parents have also been advised to look beyond an institution’s name, reputation or general affiliation and confirm whether the qualification will support statutory registration and professional practice after graduation.

The advisory aims to encourage greater regulatory due diligence during the 2026–27 Allied & Healthcare admission process.Students, parents advised to check statutory recognition and regulatory approvals before taking admission in Allied & Healthcare courses.
