Updated At: November 8, 2025 5:45 PM

Pune: The Bharatatma Ved Puraskar 2025, one of India’s most respected awards recognizing contributions to Vedic education and scholarship, will be held in Pune on November 17 at the Dadasaheb Darode Auditorium. The ceremony coincides with the punyatithi (death anniversary) of Late Shri Ashokji Singhal Ji, the visionary leader and spiritual reformer in whose memory the awards were instituted.

The event will take place in the esteemed presence of Param Pujya Swami Shri Govinddev Giriji Maharaj, while Param Pujya Acharyaji Shri Pradyumnaji Maharaj will confer the awards upon this year’s honorees.

Celebrating the Legacy of Ashokji Singhal

Late Shri Ashokji Singhal Ji, the founding member and former International President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), dedicated his life to reviving and propagating India’s ancient Vedic knowledge systems. A central figure in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, Singhal Ji championed the traditional Gurukul model of education and inspired a generation of scholars to preserve the Vedas and their teachings.

Recognizing Excellence in Vedic Tradition

Now in its ninth edition, the Bharatatma Ved Puraskar has been honoring outstanding contributions to Vedic learning for the past eight years. The awards are presented in three key categories:

  • Outstanding Vedic Student – ₹3 lakh cash prize
  • Ideal Vedic Teacher – ₹5 lakh cash prize
  • Excellent Vedic Institution – ₹7 lakh cash prize

In addition to the monetary reward, each winner receives a certificate of merit and a commemorative memento.

Veda Arpita Jeevan Samman: Lifetime Achievement in Vedic Service

The event will also feature the presentation of the Veda Arpita Jeevan Samman, or Lifetime Vedic Dedication Award. This prestigious honor recognizes scholars aged 65 and above who have dedicated their lives to the study, teaching, and practice of the Vedas. The award carries a cash prize of ₹5 lakh along with a certificate of recognition.

The names of the Bharatatma Ved Puraskar 2025 awardees will be announced during the ceremony.

Preserving India’s Spiritual Heritage

Through initiatives like the Bharatatma Ved Puraskar, the legacy of Shri Ashokji Singhal Ji continues to inspire scholars and institutions across India to uphold and promote the timeless wisdom of the Vedic tradition.
