Contestant Ankita Lokhande, who appeared on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 17 alongside her husband Vicky Jain, has often been observed reminiscing about the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR). Ankita and Sushant were in a relationship that spanned seven years. They first met on the sets of Pavitra Rishta and remained together since. Ankita had previously shared how Sushant had abruptly ended their relationship without providing an explanation. In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 17, Ankita was seen conversing with fellow contestant Abhishek Kumar, where they discussed Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress even drew comparisons between Sushant and Abhishek, remarking, “Your physique, the way you walk shirtless in trousers, strongly reminds me of Sushant Singh Rajput. His body was similar to yours,” Ankita told Abhishek.
Ankita became emotional as she continued, saying, “Sushant was extraordinarily hardworking. He was deeply involved and a perfectionist. I’m more easy-going, but he delved deep into things. He was affected by what people said about him on Twitter. Sushant didn’t have anyone to support him.” When Abhishek apologized for bringing up the topic, Ankita replied, “Talking about him feels good; it gives me a sense of pride. He was like family.”
However, Ankita’s portrayal in the episode didn’t sit well with netizens, who criticized her for repeatedly invoking Sushant Singh Rajput’s name to gain an advantage in the game. Ankita, who is nominated, faced backlash from Sushant’s fans. One of the Instagram user commented on the video that “Why is she using his name now that she’s married and he’s not here… why continue to use his name? Everyone has their past, but no one talks about it in their married life.”
Another user stated, “She wants to win BB in the name of SSR, nothing else. Whenever you see, she talks about something, sometimes she feels proud, sometimes she left him, and it was a next-level heartbreak. What does she want now? Let him live in his world.”
