Chiranjeevi responds to allegations surrounding his blood bank and reveals his character name, Kadiri Kalidas, in upcoming film Kaaka
New Delhi: South Indian megastar Chiranjeevi has once again made headlines, this time not for his films but for his strong response to allegations surrounding the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank. The actor has rejected claims that his blood bank sells blood for profit and questioned the logic behind such allegations.
According to a report by Disha Daily, Chiranjeevi addressed the controversy during a recent fan interaction. He said he has faced criticism and insults throughout his career but finds the allegations against his blood bank particularly unreasonable.
Chiranjeevi questioned how he could make the kind of money he earns from films simply by selling blood. He reportedly asked how many crores of blood packets he would have to sell to earn the same amount as his film remuneration.
The actor also stressed that he runs the blood bank with a service-oriented approach rather than for commercial gain. He said he has funded the initiative with his own earnings and has not sought donations from others to run it.

The Old Blood Bank Controversy
The controversy surrounding the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank dates back several years. In 2011, actor Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha raised questions about the functioning of the blood bank and the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. They allegedly accused the organisation of selling donated blood and raised questions about its financial operations.
Following their remarks, Chiranjeevi’s relative Allu Aravind filed a defamation case against the couple.
The case continued for years. In July 2023, a local court sentenced Rajasekhar and Jeevitha to one year in prison in connection with the defamation case and also imposed a fine. The couple received bail and retained the option to challenge the verdict through legal channels.
Chiranjeevi’s latest remarks have brought the old controversy back into the spotlight. However, the actor has focused his recent comments on defending the purpose of the blood bank and the service activities associated with it.
Chiranjeevi Reveals His Character Name in ‘Kaaka’
While the blood bank controversy has grabbed attention, Chiranjeevi has also generated buzz around his upcoming film ‘Kaaka’.
Director Bobby Kolli reunites with Chiranjeevi for the project after their successful collaboration in Waltair Veerayya (2023). The makers have scheduled Kaaka for a Sankranti 2027 release.
The film initially introduced Chiranjeevi’s character as K. Satyam, a supervisor working at Ammaji Aqua Industries. However, Chiranjeevi recently revealed that his character’s full name is Kadiri Kalidas.
The revelation has increased curiosity around the character and the film’s storyline. The makers have also introduced actress Anaswara Rajan’s character as Ammulu Paapa.
Nivetha Pethuraj also plays a key role in the film. The makers are presenting Kaaka as an action entertainer that combines family emotions with drama and mass elements.
