Updated At: October 10, 2025 7:20 PM

An evening of fragrance, film, and Kathak at Nehru Centre celebrated Krishna’s eternal message of love, harmony, and devotion, highlighting India’s cultural diplomacy on a global stage.

London, October 8, 2025:

The Nehru Centre, London, hosted a soulful and vibrant evening with the International Samarpan of the Shri Krishna Leela Collection. The event brought together fragrance, film, and classical dance, weaving them into a collective tribute to Lord Krishna and India’s spiritual heritage.

Invocation and Film Screening

The evening began with a serene invocation of “Om Krishnaya Vasudevaya Haraye Paramatmane”, invoking divine blessings. This was followed by a short film on the Shri Krishna Leela Collection, tracing its artistic inspiration, craftsmanship, and the philosophy of turning spiritual stories into fragrances.

Fragrance as Devotion

Mr. Prashant Kumar, CMD of Mode Retails Sales and Marketing Pvt. Ltd. and Founder of Ramalaya & JPSR Prabhu Shriram, addressed the gathering. He shared how fragrances can transcend products to become “a living story — a blend of bhava (emotion), bhakti (devotion), and sugandha (fragrance).” Kumar emphasized that as India reclaims its role as Vishwa Guru, it shares with the world values of harmony, sustainability, and consciousness rooted in its cultural wisdom.

Nehru Centre’s Endorsement

Speaking at the event, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Director, Nehru Centre, London, noted, “This International Samarpan beautifully reflects India’s cultural diplomacy, where fragrance, art, and dance embody Krishna’s universal message of love and harmony.”

Kathak Performance: “Krishna in Kathak”

The highlight of the evening was an enchanting Kathak recital by renowned artist Richa Srivastava, titled “Krishna in Kathak.” Her performance depicted three divine Leelas:

  • Kaliya Mardan – victory of purity and nature over evil,
  • Vastra Haran – Krishna as the compassionate protector and eternal Nayak,
  • Radha Krishna Thumri – expressing divine love and cosmic union.

Her storytelling through rhythm, movement, and abhinaya captivated the audience, making Krishna’s eternal play come alive on stage.

Shri Krishna Leela Collection Unveiled

The fragrance collection unveiled at the event embodies Krishna’s divine wisdom and Leelas — from Makhanchor’s innocence and Govardhan’s gratitude to Sudama’s humility and Raas Leela’s transcendental love. Curated under the Ramalaya initiative by JPSR Prabhu Shriram, the collection represents India’s devotion, artistry, and sensory storytelling.

Cultural Diplomacy Through Art

The evening concluded with the formal presentation of the collection to Nehru Centre representatives, symbolizing India’s offering of love, harmony, and balance to the world. The event reinforced India’s cultural leadership, where fragrance, performance, and film merge to create a global dialogue of devotion and peace.
