The MERI Group of Institutions has been invited to speak at the Top 100 MSMEs Recognition & Award 2026, where it will present its approach to industry-linked education, innovation, research and employability. Representing MERI Group at the event, Institution HR Head Tapas De spoke about the institution’s three-decade academic journey, its industry-oriented programmes and various initiatives focused on preparing students for emerging career opportunities.With over three decades of academic experience, MERI offers programmes across engineering, management, BJMC and law, along with specialised courses in the emerging field of space studies. These include GeoAI, international space law, space arbitration and Indian space policy, reflecting the institution’s focus on building academic programmes aligned with evolving industry and professional requirements.
The institution is NAAC and AICTE approved and recognised by SIRO for research and innovation. Its research ecosystem includes around 41 patents and more than 200 research papers and institutional publications, demonstrating its continued emphasis on research, innovation and knowledge creation.
MERI’s academic ecosystem is further supported by an Apple-authorised training centre, an AI/ML lab, a Centre for International Studies and a Startup Hub that brings together startups, investors and incubators. These initiatives are aimed at providing students with greater exposure to emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, global perspectives and real-world industry requirements.
As part of its efforts to contribute to the evolving mobility and automotive ecosystem, MERI is also exploring the development of an Electric Vehicle Park. The institution has held consultations with automobile manufacturers to understand industry requirements and explore opportunities for collaboration in the electric vehicle sector.
The institution places strong emphasis on employability and industry readiness, with an experienced faculty base that includes PhD scholars and alumni of premier institutions such as the IIMs and IITs. Through its academic programmes, research initiatives, industry engagement and specialised learning platforms, MERI aims to equip students with skills and knowledge relevant to a rapidly changing professional landscape.
The India SME 100 Awards, organised by the MSME Udyog Foundation in association with industry partners, recognise high-performing enterprises for their achievements across areas including growth, innovation, financial strength, governance and people capital. MERI Group’s invitation to speak at the 2026 recognition and award event provides an opportunity for the institution to showcase its initiatives and industry-oriented approach before a wider MSME and business ecosystem.
