MERI Students Dive Into Media Training During Two-Day Practical Workshop

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), Janakpuri, successfully organized a two-day practical activity on April 6 and 7, 2026, aimed at enhancing students’ media skills through hands-on learning experiences.

Welcome Address at MERI

The event began with a welcome address by the Head of the Department, Dr. S.K. Pandey, who emphasized the importance of practical exposure in journalism. Moreover, he motivated students to participate actively.

Day 1: News Writing and Campus Photography

The first day focused on News Writing and Campus Capture Photography. Students learned the basics of news writing, including structure, clarity, headline writing, and the inverted pyramid format. Furthermore, they completed practical exercises. The photography session encouraged students to creatively capture campus life through diverse themes.

Day 2: Reporting, Anchoring, and Reel Making

On the second day, activities included News Reporting, Anchoring, and Reel Making. Students gained practical experience in on-camera presentation and digital content creation. As a result, they improved.

Students from BA (JMC) Semesters 2nd, 4th, and 6th participated enthusiastically. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Sadanand Pandey. Therefore, students left with valuable media skills.
