New Delhi: Suresh Raina, former all-rounder of Chennai Super Kings with a strong bond with MS Dhoni, has confirmed that the revered wicketkeeper-batter, often called ‘Thala’ by fans, will participate in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League for CSK.
In a video shared by the IPL’s digital sponsor, Suresh Raina was seen responding to a question about whether Dhoni would play in 2025. Raina’s confident response was ‘Khelenge’ (meaning ‘He will play’).

Dhoni has already stepped down from captaincy, and the franchise has appointed Ruturaj Gaikwad as his successor.
Under Gaikwad’s leadership, CSK has won four out of six matches and is currently placed third in the points table.
Dhoni is also in exceptional form, delivering much-needed finishes for the franchise in all IPL matches. In his recent match against the Mumbai Indians, he smashed Hardik Pandya for consecutive sixes, helping his team secure victory against the five-time champions.
