On Camera: Accused Forced to Push Bihar Police Vehicle to Court After It Ran Out of Fuel

In a peculiar yet amusing incident, four accused individuals were compelled to push a police van in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district after the vehicle reportedly ran out of fuel. The detainees were en route to court in police custody when the vehicle came to a halt due to fuel exhaustion, as per reports.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms, eliciting witty comments from netizens.

In the video, the four accused, with ropes tied around their waists, can be seen pushing a Bihar Police SUV while an officer guides them.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday in Bhagalpur district when the four men, arrested for consuming liquor (as Bihar is a dry state where alcohol consumption is a punishable offense), were being transported by the police to appear in a local court.

However, when the police vehicle ran out of fuel and came to a stop near Kachahari Chowk, the officers instructed the four inmates to push the van to the side of the road, they said.

The incident was captured by onlookers and the video has since gone viral on social media platforms.

Reports indicate that the accused men pushed the police vehicle for nearly half a kilometer.

In response to the embarrassing incident, a senior police official stated that an internal investigation has been initiated, and appropriate action will be taken against any officers found at fault.

“We have received information about the incident, and a departmental investigation will be launched into the matter,” said Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition Pramodit Narayan Singh.

ACP Singh mentioned that strict action will be taken against any guilty officers, emphasizing that the further probe is ongoing.
