Krunal Pandya’s match-winning 73 and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 4 wickets help RCB secure dramatic 2-wicket victory
New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Mumbai Indians by 2 wickets in an exciting IPL 2026 match on May 10. RCB chased the target of 167 runs and reached 167/8 in 20 overs on the last ball of the match. With this win, RCB moved to the top of the IPL 2026 points table.
The match remained close till the very end and both teams fought hard throughout the game. RCB now have 14 points from 11 matches and a strong net run rate of +1.103. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, stayed near the bottom of the table with only 6 points from 11 matches and are now close to being out of the playoff race.

Mumbai Indians batted first and scored 166/7 in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma gave the team a fast start by scoring 22 runs from just 10 balls with two fours and two sixes. But RCB bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him early.
Ryan Rickelton scored only 2 runs before getting out to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Suryakumar Yadav also got out for zero after Virat Kohli took the catch.
Naman Dhir played a very useful innings of 47 runs from 32 balls with five fours and two sixes. Tilak Varma then played a steady knock of 57 runs from 42 balls and helped Mumbai Indians reach a fighting total. Will Jacks scored 10 runs and Raj Bawa added 16 runs.
Corbin Bosch stayed not out on 5 runs while Deepak Chahar remained unbeaten on 1 run as Mumbai Indians finished at 166/7.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the best bowler for RCB and took four important wickets. He dismissed Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma.
Rasikh Salam took the wicket of Naman Dhir, Romario Shepherd dismissed Will Jacks and Josh Hazlewood got the wicket of Raj Bawa.

RCB lose early wickets during chase
Royal Challengers Bengaluru did not start well while chasing the target. Virat Kohli got out for zero on the very first ball he faced. Deepak Chahar then dismissed Devdutt Padikkal for 12 runs.
Rajat Patidar also got out after scoring 8 runs. Jacob Bethell scored 27 runs from 27 balls before Corbin Bosch dismissed him. Tim David was out without scoring, which increased pressure on RCB.

Krunal Pandya played a brilliant innings of 73 runs from 46 balls and helped RCB stay in the match. He hit four boundaries and five sixes during his knock.
Jitesh Sharma supported him with 18 quick runs from 12 balls. Romario Shepherd scored 4 runs before Raj Bawa dismissed him.
The match went to the final over, where RCB needed important runs under pressure. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rasikh Salam remained calm and completed the chase on the last ball to give RCB a thrilling win.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are fifth and sixth with 12 points each and are still in the playoff race. Kolkata Knight Riders are seventh with 9 points and Delhi Capitals are eighth with 8 points.
Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are at the bottom of the table with only 6 points each from 11 matches, making their chances of reaching the playoffs very difficult.
