Smriti Mandhana’s RCB Seals First-Ever WPL Title with Commanding Win Over Delhi Capitals

In the WPL 2024 Final DC vs RCB Women’s Match, a new champion emerged in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 on Sunday. Royal Challengers Bangalore secured victory in the final encounter by defeating Delhi by 8 wickets.

In the ultimate clash, Meg Lanning, the captain of Delhi Capitals, won the toss and elected to bat initially. Delhi’s innings came to a close at 113 runs, losing all wickets in 18.3 overs, owing to stellar bowling performances by Shreyanka Patil and Mollinyuks. Royal Challengers Bangalore now faces the challenge of pursuing a target of 114 runs to secure the title. Shreyanka Patil showcased her prowess with four wickets during the innings.

Pursuing the target, RCB initiated their innings with a deliberate yet firm beginning. Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine shared a partnership of 49 runs for the first wicket. Sophie amassed 32 runs, while captain Smriti Mandhana contributed 31 runs. Following this, Alice Perry remained undefeated at 35, and Richa Ghosh added 17 runs to seal the victory. Minnu and Shikha each took one wicket.
