UP Toll Rates: Travel on major expressways in Uttar Pradesh has become more expensive from April 2026. The toll rates have been revised by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority across several important expressways in the state.

The revised toll charges apply to the following routes:

  • Agra-Lucknow Expressway
  • Purvanchal Expressway
  • Bundelkhand Expressway
  • Gorakhpur Link Expressway

The toll increase varies depending on vehicle category and travel distance. According to officials, the hike ranges between ₹5 and ₹85 across different vehicle types.

The new toll rates came into effect from midnight on April 1, 2026, making travel more expensive for daily commuters, transport operators, and long-distance travelers.

Why Toll Rates Were Increased

Officials said toll rates are revised every year to maintain roads and improve infrastructure. This time, the latest increase has been implemented after considering the following factors:

  • Inflation and rising operational costs
  • Maintenance and repair work
  • Traffic management expenses
  • Improvement of services and facilities

Authorities said periodic toll revisions help maintain expressways in good condition and ensure safer travel for commuters.

Expressways Where Toll Rates Increased

The toll hike has been implemented on four major expressways in Uttar Pradesh:

  • Purvanchal Expressway
  • Bundelkhand Expressway
  • Gorakhpur Link Expressway

Apart from these, some national highways and connecting roads also saw small increases. However, not all vehicle categories saw equal hikes, and in some cases, certain categories saw very minor or no increase, depending on operational cost and traffic volume.
