The Indian smartphone industry welcomed multiple new devices this August. Many of these launches introduced high-performance mid-range devices priced at under ₹35,000. From Honor to Xiaomi to Vivo, brands are targeting millennials with high-performing processors, expansive batteries, and AI-powered features.
Honor X7c 5G: Low Budget/High AI
Honor launched the X7c 5G and was priced competitively at only ₹14,999 and comes powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.
The phone notes that its performance is AI-driven with battery power lasting quite a while. The phone would be useful for entry-level budget conscious consumers looking for performance and functional costs of ownership. The phone is available in two color options: Forest Green and Moonlight White.
Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G: Big Battery Meets HyperOS 2.0
The Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G was announced on August 19, 2025 and will be released with an expected retail price between ₹10,000-15,000. This phone has a 6.9″ FHD+ LCD display that has 144Hz refresh rate, the latest Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, and utilizes HyperOS 2.0 that is based on Android 15. Vivo Y400 5G: Premium Display, 90W Fast Charging
Vivo’s Y400 5G launched August 4, 2025, and at launch was available between ₹21,999–₹23,999, and went on sale 7 August. The Key Highlights are a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits brightness with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. For Camera, It offers a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and rated IP68/IP69 durability. The device has a massive 6,000mAh battery and offer 90W fast charging.
Redmi 15 Series: Strong Contender Under ₹35K
The Redmi 15 Series is set to be a tough contender In the under-₹35,000 price segment along with the Redmi 15 5G. It is expected to have a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, multiple processor options (Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, Snapdragon 685, and Dimensity 6100+), and a massive 7,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging and reverse charge. In terms of cameras, the phone has a 50 MP rear sensor, and an 8 MP selfie camera. The series will have HyperOS 2.0 over Android 15 and will have IP64 certified protection for dirt and water splash resistance.
Market Outlook Of Smartphone
With these launches, smartphone makers are engaging aggressively in the Indian mid-range section of the market. The Honor X7c 5G addresses the budget buyer, but, the Redmi 15 Series and the Vivo Y400 5G both have flagship-level features, available for an affordable price.
