Organisation Builds 1,500 Homes in J&K While Expanding Environmental, Livelihood and Tribal Welfare Programmes
New Delhi: HRDS India (Highrange Rural Development Society) continues to expand its welfare and development programmes for tribal and rural communities across India. The NGO, which was established in 1995, works under the leadership of President Srimath Swami Atma Nambi and Founder & Secretary Aji Krishnan.
The organisation focuses on shelter, livelihood opportunities, dignity and self-reliance for marginalised communities. Over nearly three decades, HRDS India has developed programmes covering education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, livelihood generation and environmental protection.
Its key programmes include Sadhgraha for tribal housing, Karshaka for organic farming, Jwalamukhi for women’s empowerment, Ekagrah for education and skill development, and Niramaya for Ayurveda and yoga-based healthcare.
HRDS India carries out its work in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Odisha, Rajasthan, Manipur, Jharkhand, Assam and Tripura. Through Sadhgraha, the organisation constructs durable and furnished tribal homes with environmentally sustainable materials and faster building techniques.
The NGO also helps communities strengthen their economic independence. Its initiatives include organic farming, DDU-GKY-linked skill development and women-led micro-enterprises. In Manipur, HRDS India plans to provide safe housing and integrated development support to tribal and homeless families affected by displacement and conflict.
The organisation has expanded its environmental work through partnerships focused on waste management and sanitation. Its collaboration with Japan-based SMI Inc. covers recycling, waste management and waste-processing initiatives. An MoU with Calculus Group will support AI-based sanitation systems, IoT-enabled infrastructure and digital ecosystems for underserved rural communities.
HRDS India is also undertaking a large-scale humanitarian housing project in Jammu and Kashmir. The organisation is constructing 1,500 free three-bedroom prefabricated “Smart Houses” for families affected by floods, landslides, damage linked to Operation Sindoor and certain cases of terrorism.
The project will provide beneficiaries with modern homes as well as 15-year life insurance coverage for family members. Through MoUs with the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, HRDS India will also arrange regular health check-ups, digital connectivity and free maintenance and repainting for several years.
The organisation has laid foundation stones in several districts and aims to complete the houses within months of construction beginning. HRDS India will finance the entire project without charging the government or beneficiaries.

HRDS India functions as an independent, non-political organisation. It has registration with NITI Aayog, eligibility for CSR funds, tax exemption under Section 80G and FCRA compliance for foreign contributions. The organisation relies on voluntary donations and philanthropic support and continues to invite partnerships for its welfare and rehabilitation initiatives.
