PM Modi’s 76th birthday was marked in Wayanad with a 76-kg cake, special pooja and the launch of Dr Bhargav Mallappa’s book on India’s transformation
Wayanad: Wayanad marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday with a special celebration at Adithara Auditorium in Sultan Bathery, where Dr. Bhargav Mallappa cut a 76-kg cake.
The cake-cutting ceremony became the centrepiece of the birthday programme, with its weight symbolising the Prime Minister’s age. Organisers also conducted a special pooja and prayed for Narendra Modi’s health and well-being.
Dr. Subbha Somu, Chairman, National Board for Workers Education, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, BJP Wayanad District President Prasanth Malavayal and spiritual leaders Madurai Aadheenam Srimath Vishwalinga Thambiran, Thiru Rajasekar Swamigal and Thavathiru Palani Adigalar joined Dr. Mallappa at the event.
The programme also included the launch of Dr. Bhargav Mallappa’s book, The Modi Era: India’s Journey of Transformation. The book looks at the changes in India under Prime Minister Modi, covering areas such as digital governance, digital payments, financial inclusion and technology-based public services.
Dr. Mallappa said the event represented the affection and respect of those taking part in the celebration.
“This is the first time that Prime Minister Modi Ji’s birthday has been celebrated on such a grand scale in Wayanad. The 76-kg cake is a small gesture of our affection and respect for him. We also offered prayers for his good health and well-being. I wish Modi Ji a long, healthy and fulfilling life and hope that he continues to serve the nation with the same dedication,” he said.
Prasanth Malavayal said Wayanad came together to mark the occasion and described the gathering as a moment of happiness for the district.
“It is a matter of happiness for Wayanad to come together and celebrate the Prime Minister’s 76th birthday. The scale of today’s celebration reflects the enthusiasm of the people who have gathered here to celebrate the occasion,” he said.
