New Delhi: Delhi Paralympic Committee President Parul Singh joined the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative with her family on Thursday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday. The family lit diyas and prayed for the Prime Minister’s good health, long life and continued contribution to the nation.
The initiative invited families in Delhi to light a diya from 6 pm to 7 pm on September 17. The gesture aimed to convey blessings and birthday wishes to Prime Minister Modi. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also appealed to people across the capital to participate.
Singh said the programme brought families together while giving them a way to share their wishes for the Prime Minister.
“On his birthday, I wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji good health, long life and happiness. I hope he continues his service to the country with the same dedication and, perhaps, continues to lead the nation in the years ahead. We lit the diya with these prayers and good wishes,” Singh said.
The ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme featured among the birthday events organised as part of the wider ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a month-long campaign that began on September 17. Prime Minister Modi also responded to the gesture and said the blessings and good wishes had further strengthened his resolve to serve the country.
