Delhi Paralympic Committee President receives recognition for supporting athletes with disabilities
New Delhi: Delhi Paralympic Committee President Parul Singh was honoured by Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh at “An Evening Dedicated to Persons with Disabilities”.
The Social Welfare Department of the Delhi Government organised the special programme under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also attended the event.
The programme celebrated the achievements of persons with disabilities and focused on creating a more inclusive environment with equal opportunities.
Singh received the honour for her contribution to para-sports and her efforts to support Divyang athletes in Delhi. Through the Delhi Paralympic Committee, she has worked to encourage greater participation and provide athletes with competitive opportunities.
“This felicitation is a great encouragement not just for me, but for every para-athlete who continues to pursue their dreams with determination,” Singh said.
She said every Divyang athlete should receive equal opportunities, proper support and a platform to display their talent. Singh also expressed hope that continued support from the Delhi Government would help para-sports grow further in the capital.
She thanked the Delhi Government for recognising the work of the para-sports community and stressed the importance of cooperation between government bodies, sports organisations and society.
